Sign up for us as we recognise Global Women’s Month, and let us share some of the superb woman minds that have contributed their perception and creative imagination to NAJO’s creative journey. NAJO Founder Jo Tory, clarifies her inspiration for jewelry design and style and her favorite piece is from the new Aqua Assortment.

NAJO How did your love affair with jewellery commence and what drew you to turn out to be a jewelry designer?

I arrive from a creative spouse and children. My mother generally had some form of artwork or craft on the go, like building silver jewelry, and I played with the elements that surrounded me. So the enjoy of design was with me from an early age. It was when I lived in Mexico and skilled the excellent craftsmanship there that I realized this was my course and inspired me to start Najo. That craftsmanship directed the Najo model ethos. When I returned to reside in Australia I required to elevate the perception of silver jewellery with very well-designed pieces of up to date structure. At that time there was very little like that in the marketplace

NAJO When building a new collection, what is your resourceful course of action and the place do you uncover your key resource of inspiration?

I am regularly exploring patterns and aspects of jewelry to clarify what may well be in my intellect. Designs, finishes, stones and the complex factors of a piece will immediate how it turns out. I particularly enjoy searching at historical jewellery from the Greek, Roman or Byzantine era. Styles and figurative facts also engage in a part, as in our Totem Selection. I also enjoy developing and growing on designs that are currently in the Najo assortment as it maintains that regularity.

NAJO The new Aqua Selection has just released. What can we search forward to looking at in the new assortment?

I like all the fluid styles in Aqua. The Najo assortment in typical has normally experienced themes of h2o shapes managing by means of it with raindrops, waves and ripples, so it was specially charming to showcase this with Aqua. There is a lovely series of earrings with jelly-like stone drops in watery, translucent colors.

NAJO Significantly of your design and style is influenced by the all-natural world, with this year becoming motivated by the movement and colour of the h2o. What is it about character that fascinates you as a jewellery designer?

Character is excellent so there is so much to inspire! I significantly appreciate organic and natural designs, the gentle curves and twists and asymmetry in the normal world. Those fluid designs observed in drinking water are so soft, feminine and luscious, they definitely lend them selves to jewelry structure.

NAJO Inform me about the evolution and assortment of your types of NAJO’s jewellery?

The Danish jewellery designers have generally affected my function. That is, strong, properly-crafted silver designs with clean, modern strains, oxidized patterning and trims – all of these things are embraced in the NAJO collections, and our aesthetic has remained reliable. Top quality is paramount and we continually attempt to keep that typical.

NAJO What sets NAJO aside from other Jewellery makes?

There is a traditional simplicity to Najo styles that make them pretty timeless. They are all imbued with the identical aesthetic, which will make them recognizable.
